A late 19th century French Limoges fish set or suite produced by L R Limoges, possibly identified as Lazeyras and Rosenfeld. The set consists of one large oblong platter and nine lobed plates.
The set is decorated with a celadon-colored mesh background painted over with mint-colored fig leaves highlighted in gilt. A single fish embellishes the length of the center of each plate and is painted in realistic detail. Coral, applied in raised gilt impasto work, also enhances the set.
This fish set makes an incredible display for a wall or cabinet. The artistry is evident in each piece, the dark fish stands out in stark contrast to the soft green background.
The set is in excellent condition with minor gilt and enamel wear.
Size of Platter: 23 ½" Length by 8 ½" Width
Size of 9 Plates: 9 ¼" Diameter.
