Presenting a lovely late 19th century Impressionist oil painting on canvas by artist H. M. Gabriel, depicting a flower seller on a quay with boats floating nearby. There are people in the background with bouquets of colorful flowers in the foreground. This stunning scene is gently blended with beautiful soft colors that shade effortlessly into each other for a most pleasing effect.
The reverse states that the painting was executed by Paul Joseph Constantin Gabriel, a Dutch painter, who used H. M. Gabriel as a pseudonym; however we have not yet been able to substantiate this connection.
The painting is in excellent condition with small patch to lower right edge. It is mounted in a stunning gilt-carved frame and signed in the lower left hand corner that has had minor restoration.
