Enchanting porcelain sculpture depicting a young woman carrying flowers in her apron with a jaunty hat perched on her head. Her amazing features are crisp and clear and bear the remarkably charismatic characteristics that made this factory famous. Hand painted in their turn of the century shaded greens and pinks, the colors blend softly into any background unlike the multi-colored enamels so common from other factories. We adore these wonderful pieces with their feminine touches and buy everything we can get our hands on, they are just wonderful works of art.
This piece dates from 1897 to 1906. Wahliss purchased this blank from the Alfred Stellmacher Imperial and Royal Porcelain Factory which was founded in 1859 and made similar items. Wahliss purchased this factory in 1894. This piece reflects Stellmacher's style with its detailed molding and subtly shaded colors. Wahliss sold his Bohemian pieces in high end retail stores mainly in London England and Vienna Austria. His company was known for their unique designs of extremely high quality.
The figure is in very good age related condition with a few minor flea bite chips to her apron, a few flowers and one of the ribbons on the back of her cape commensurate with age.
