Presented for sale is a late 19th century German Sitzendorf porcelain wall sconce. The scrolled porcelain frame is heavily encrusted with flowers and vines and further embellished with cherubs. The top of the mirror is surmounted with a woman's bust and a cross-hatched acanthus leaf crest along with a hand mirror (indicating that this was a ladies' vanity mirror.) The bottom is fitted with two arched candle arms.
The mirror is in very good condition, actually composed of four main pieces. There has been some age related professional restoration to some of the flowers and a portion of the candle arm. There are minor chips present to flower tips, which are to be expected. This is an extraordinary piece of artistic workmanship, and it will be a showpiece on any wall it graces.
Size: 25" Height x 15" Width.
