An endearing little sampler stitched by 10-year old Ellen Eliza Holmer in 1835. The sampler is filled top to bottom with three versions of alphabets and a numerical progression. This work is separated by a pronounced line of blue diamonds. Her name, age, and year date are stitched on the bottom.
The sampler has been re-fitted with new glass and reset into original frame. It appears to be in good condition with a few tiny pin-prick holes. We have not been able to locate any history on Miss Holmer, but will add any information that comes our way. The sampler is worked silk on linen.
Size: 14” Height by 10” Width.
