Meiji Period Late 19th C. Japanese Imari Lobed Oval Center Bowl
Handsome Meiji period late 19th century Japanese Imari lobed oval center bowl with scalloped edge. The bowl is decorated in alternating floral panels painted in underglaze cobalt blues and overglaze iron reds and greens, which are highlighted in gilt.
The bowl is perfect for display in the center of a table, on a shelf or sideboard, the colors stunning with dark mahogany or oak. It is in very good age related condition with slight wear to the enamels and gilt. There is a small restoration to the scalloped edge (invisible to the eye).
Size: 5” H x 11” L x 9 1/4” D.
