French artist Paul Michel Dupuy (1869 - 1949) was a Post Impressionist painter fond of depicting women and children on beaches. He won many awards during his lifetime culminating in the esteemed Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur in 1933. A prolific painter throughout his long career, his work is exhibited in several important museums including the Museum at Reins and in many private collections.
This oil painting on board depicts a Mother and her two children on a windy beach and is typical of the type of work for which this artist was best known. The painting is in excellent condition, signed in the lower right-hand corner as shown.
