A rare and collectible 18th century French Chantilly naughty figural bonbonnière of soft paste porcelain depicting the humorous figure of a lady using her porcelain pot. The hinged lid reveals a painted exterior and interior. This little treasure is beautifully detailed and in excellent condition.

Bonbonnières were created to hold candied sweetmeats or nuts used to improve the breath. They were collected and displayed on the tabletops of the aristocracy in the 18th century. Chantilly was a French soft-paste porcelain produced at the château de Chantilly between 1730 and 1800. It was founded by Louis Henri de Bourbon, prince de condé to compete with the Saint-Cloud porcelain factory.
