Tall, elegant, ornate tin with scenes of hunting on hinged lid and side panels embellished with gold borders and base, produced by Huntley & Palmers, 1894 – 1895.
A brief description by the Reading Borough Museum is as follows:
"English fox hunting scenes were a popular subject for biscuit tins - such as 'World', 1892, or 'Hunting', 1936. Samuel Palmer was a member of the South Berkshire Hunt and no doubt would have approved of this example. This tin shape was also used for 'Tiger' and 'Showman'."
The tin is in good condition with age related wear and broken hinge.
Size: 6" Height, 7" Width, 5.5" Depth.
