Offered for sale is an 1820 Austrian Portico Mantel Clock with ebonized finish featuring unusual shadowboxes on top filled with intricate flower arrangements that are constructed of tiny wires and hand cut paper. The clock retains its original porcelain dial with a striking movement and filigree pendulum. The top is supported on fluted onyx columns with Egyptian style capitals atop a trunk base fitted with a glass-encased print showing old Vienna.
The clock is in good restored condition with restoration to the finish, bezel, and clockworks. The narrow depth makes it perfect for a fireplace mantel, and the large size and rarity of the clock is sure to impress any collector.
