A handsome porcelain military figure produced in Frankenthal, Germany and made by the factory, which was founded by Friedrich Wilhelm Wessel in 1949, and was known for producing fine porcelain figures.
This figures depicts an 1815 French Jäger Officer of 1815, in full dress uniform with his sword at his side and a blue mink-lined coat over his shoulder. Historically the Jagers were light infantry soldiers formed from the rugged huntsmen and woodsmen of the area. The figure is hand painted and finely detailed, in excellent condition with saber and cape at his side.
