Offered for sale is a 19th century hand painted miniature portrait of a noblewoman titled, "Dsse de Parme". Marie-Louise, the Duchess of Parma, was the second wife of Napoleon Bonaparte. In this charming portrait, she is dressed in a feathered hat with puffed sleeves and gathered neckline. The painting exhibits fine detail and is signed by the artist, Blanche.
The portrait is mounted into a cast ormolu frame with velvet panels, a name plaque is attached.
The painting is in excellent condition; the frame exhibits a slightly off-center slant.
