Exceptional late 19th century Royal Crown Derby triple handle Loving Cup in a rich Imari pattern highlighted in gilt.
Derby porcelain was founded in 1747 by Andre Planche who partnered with William Duesbury in 1756. The name Crown Derby applied when King George III granted permission for Derby to incorporate the crown in its mark. Derby eventually merged with Chelsea in 1770 and Bow Porcelain in 1776, keeping the Derby name. Royal Crown Derby is still in production today, and their name is synonymous with high quality porcelain and china. Their beautiful Imari patterns are consistently collected by the connoisseurs of fine English china.
The Loving Cup is in excellent condition with a small amount of gilt and enamel wear commensurate with age.
