Robert F. Watson (1865 – 1916) was from a prolific family of late 19th and early 20th century British animal painters, that specialized in painting the beautiful landscapes of Scotland and the charming cattle and sheep that roamed the hillsides. His bucolic images relay a peaceful and idyllic characteristic that appeals to collectors worldwide.
The painting is in excellent condition, signed and dated (1904) in the lower right hand corner. The frame shows a little wear.
