Offered for sale is a sensational Dresden Compote, circa 1900 with green hand painted floral encrustation raised on a pedestal. The compote was made by the Carl Thieme Company and attributed to the artist, Carl August Kuntzsch who was known for his applied floral decoration.
The compote has a lobed rim painted to the interior in green roses highlighted with gilt. The exterior is draped with encrusted flowers enameled in a stunning forest green and also found on the pedestal.
The large compote is in excellent condition with minor flaking of a few flower petals.
