Offered for sale is a late 19th century Japanese multi-fluted oval Imari bowl decorated in cobalt blue underglaze with iron red enamels. The bowl is raised on a shallow pedestal foot that conforms to the shape of the bowl. It is painted with vines, flowering peonies, and butterflies both interior and exterior.
It is in excellent condition with minor wear to the enamels on interior.
