We are pleased to present an elegant pair of 19th century French Empire triple arms sconces. The sconces are mounted with a backplate shaped as a flaming Napoleonic torch fitted with three scrolled arms terminating in lights. The flaming torch was often used as a Napoleonic symbol signifying the Emperor's quest for enlightenment and hope. The sconces are finely cast with rich detail and finished in a mellowed bronze with an even patina.
The sconces were fitted for electricity in the early 20th century, they can be returned to their original non-electric form or modernized by our lighting restorer; the choice is up to the buyer at no extra cost.
They are in excellent condition. *** Please note that the beaded bulb shades shown in the photo are not included with the sconces and are not available.
Size: 17 ½" Height by 11" Width by 6" Depth.
