Color etching and aquatint on paper by well-listed artist Hans Figura (Vienna, Austria 1898-1978), of a line of barren coniferous trees in an alpine landscape.
Hans Figura was well known for his European and American landscape and cityscape aquatint etchings. He exhibited his prints and original oil paintings in various international venues during his lifetime. Along with Luigi Kasimir and T. F. Simon, Figura was one of the most practiced artists specializing in etching and aquatinting, which reached its creative and popular peak in the decades of the 1920's and 30's.
This etching exemplifies Figura's artistic command of the simple yet elegant combination of line and color. Rather large for Figura, it is in excellent condition in a newly matted frame. It is titled on the bottom left corner; pencil signed and numbered (74/300) on the right.
