Third Quarter 19th C. Viennese Ebonized Gilt Bronze Mounted Salon Table, Enamel Plaques
We're delighted to introduce an unsurpassed (third quarter) 19th century Empire Viennese salon table mounted in gilt bronze and inlaid with extensive hand painted enamel plaques in the style of Sevres. The porcelain plaques are finely painted in classical pastoral scenes and the largest is signed by the artist, LaLoux. The top overhangs a frieze with two half drawers and is also decorated with six inset rectangular plaques. The table has been lacquered in black and fitted with bronze mounts.
The table is raised on tapered legs and is in excellent condition. All of the plaques are intact and some are signed on the reverse. This is a museum quality piece beautiful from all angles and perfect to display in the center of a room. A more recent glass top is provided for protection only; it has a small chip to one corner.
Size: 31" Height by 41" Width by 25" Depth.
