Presented for sale is a lovely Bohemian late 19th century tray decorated by Joseph Riedl in the style of Royal Vienna. The tray features a large pastoral landscape hand painted in the center framed by transfer foliate
vignettes with pierced side handles.
Joseph Riedl operated a porcelain decorating studio in Struzna, Czech Republic from 1890 to 1930. He decorated beautiful high quality pieces in the manner of the Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory, Vienna also know as "Royal Vienna." Many of his paintings were copies after the style of Angelica Kauffmann.
The tray is in very good condition with minor gilt wear found on the border and handles.
