Presented for sale is a stunning circa 1820's striking American Banjo Clock by Jonathan Billings of Acton Mass. The clock features a gilded acorn finial with painted metal dial and Simon Willard style hands under a hinged dial door. The glass tablet on the neck and pendulum box is some of the finest Eglomise reverse painted work we've ever seen and appears to be original to the clock. A gilded rope-spiraled frame outlines the neck and box and cast brass side arms are added for further decoration.
The clock is in very good condition with minor paint loss. While we have not had it running, all parts appear to be present.
