Rare and Highly collectible old piece of pottery from Alsace (Eastern France).
This charming large Alsatian milk jug was made in the late 1800's. This yellow "terre vernissee", or glazed pottery, with its decorative flowers, comes from the village of Soufflenheim and was hand made and hand painted by French artist from this village.
You can see at bottom part the marks of fire during cooking.
