Highly collectible pair of old plates from Alsace (Eastern France), circa 1940. These charming Alsatian pieces of pottery (hand-made a nd hand-painted), dating around 1940’s, come from many different villages throughout the region. The dark brown “terre vernissee”, or glazed pottery, with its decorative flowers, comes from the village of Soufflenheim. Good condition (No cracks, very little chips as you can see on photo).
