This Hector Aguilar amethyst necklace is one which is seldom seen. It's a book-piece design shown in "Silver Masters of Mexico".
It's a magnificent necklace, with seven amethyst pendants along with ribbed silver tubes and silver beads. The silver has a warm burnished tone - absolutely stunning.
Measures a closed, wearable length of 16 1/8". The center amethyst is 1" tall.
Signed and hallmarked with a winged "HA Taxco 940", and the eagle assay 3 on the tongue portion of the clasp.
Weight is 44.5 grams.
In excellent vintage condition. The amethysts are a gorgeous shade of purple, with natural inclusions. Only under magnification can you see some tiny flea bites.
