Antique stickpin holder c. 1900 to 1915, marked Nippon. This porcelain holder is hand painted with Moriaga technique, raised slip decoration. I have seen this particular decoration on a hatpin holder before, so there may be other parts of a matching dresser set out there. And this is the same shape as some Nippon hatpin holders. This measures a bit over 1.5 inches high. Base is 2 inches diameter. The piece is in perfect condition, just a bit of normal wear to gold trim. No chips, no flakes to blue dots, no lines, no repairs. Marked on the base with blue maple leaf Nippon mark, Hand painted. A great addition to your collection of stickpin and hatpin holders.
