Realistically carved wooden dog inkwell, late 19th century. This dog has good details and a wonderful aged patina. The wood has been burnished to achieve coloring and shading. It has two black glass eyes , original. Opens with hinge. Inside is the original, fitted glass ink bottle. It's tightly fitted, and in good condition. No ink residue. This little dog is very cute. Sorry I don't know breed. ( I'm a cat person). Condition is good, just the tip of one ear show a little wear, and it is so minor its not even worth mentioning. A little furniture oil will fix that. This is a small example. Height 3 inches, Width 2 inches. Depth 2.5 inches. A beautiful antique inkwell for your collection.
