Antique solid silver European wine goblets with glass liners. I believe these are toasting goblets, wedding or marriage goblets, since the stems are different, one having a winged cherub with a bow, and the other a cupid with quiver of arrows. The bases and tops are the same designs. These early silver pieces are hand made. The feature openwork, reticulated tops and bases. Condition is excellent. There are no monograms, so they would make excellent wedding, anniversary or engagements gifts. Hand blown fine crystal inserts, ring like a bell. The solid silver figures in the stems have great attention to detail. One with wings has bow and quiver with arrows. The other has arrows in quiver, and holds up the bowl of the goblet. They could be an assembled pair, but they are identical in other aspects of design and size. Both are hallmarked 800, Germany, and have lion facing left in stippled rectangular cartouche. Also B in stippled cartouche. The other touchmark is different in both of them. I can't make out what it is. Perhaps a town mark, assay mark, or maker's mark. Nice heavy silver. One is 5.6 ounces (160 grams). Other is 6 ounces, (169 grams) on my postal scale. total 11.6 ounces or 329 grams.
Height is 5.25 inches. Glass bowl inserts 3 inches diameter. Condition is perfect, just normal handling. No problems to the glass. No issues at all in the silver. No dents, no losses, no scratches. Just some old silver polish left on. I have not polished, since I like to see 150 years of tarnish. They are made of solid 800 silver, so you can polish to your own taste. A gorgeous pair of very ornate drinking glasses in the European taste, for your drinking or collecting pleasure.
