Vintage modernist sterling silver with hardwood handle pie server. This is marked Plata Sterling 925. The word Plata means silver, and is used in South American countries such as Peru, Chile, Bolivia, any Spanish speaking country. The wood is a beautifully grained hardwood such as rosewood, walnut or mahogany. The style of the piece looks just like mid century modern Mexican. Hand made rather than manufactured. Beautifully designed , like a graceful modern sculpture, and feels good in the hand. The sterling spatula part is 4.25 by 2.25 inches. The overall length is 9 inches. Weight 2 ounces. Condition is good, just normal light usage. If you collect vintage Central and South American sterling silver work, this is a pretty, and useful piece.
