The word Plata means silver, and is used in South American countries such as Peru, Chile, Bolivia, any Spanish speaking country. The wood is a beautifully grained hardwood such as rosewood, walnut or mahogany. The style of the piece looks just like mid century modern Mexican. Hand made rather than manufactured. Beautifully designed , like a graceful modern sculpture, and feels good in the hand. The sterling spatula part is 4.25 by 2.25 inches. The overall length is 9 inches. Weight 2 ounces.
