Vintage Margot at her best: an abstract enamel on silver ring, which is an adjustable size. Mid century modern design on this ring, which was probably en suite with other pieces such as bracelet, necklace, earrings. Ring is sterling silver with brightly colored enamel, which Margot Van Voorhies Carr was famous for. I like that the look is mid century, but it also looks Mayan and Aztec. Marks on the shank are Eagle 16, which is the Margot de Taxco Eagle registration mark. Also marked with design number 5542. It is not marked Margot, but I guarantee it is from this studio. That's why I believe it was part of a suite of jewelry, the larger pieces being marked with her name. Dates from late 1940's to 1950's. Condition is good. I only see a tiny surface scratch on the white enamel, mainly visible because of the macro photograph. Not so noticeable in real life. In fact I just cleaned it with windex, and it looks a lot better. Probably had silver polish on it. This is a beautiful ring, and can be adjusted to fit any ring size, female or male. Right now it's about a size 6.
If you collect vintage Mexican silver jewelry, this ring is stunning and made by a great studio.
