Antique carnival glass hatpin, c. 1920 , oval shaped with image of a butterfly. The background glass is black, and the surface has colorful iridescence. I hope you can see this rainbow iridescence in the photos. Most likely Bohemian in origin, c. 1920. This carnival glass hatpin is mounted on a 6 inch steel pin. The "volcano" is perfect. The hatpin is perfect, no chips, no lines, no repairs. The size of the oval head is 1 and 7/8 by 1 and 1/2 inches. Nice condition. Nice iridescence. Just a little "warping" in the shape. That's in the making. You will see little flea bites on the edge, but it is iridized over; it was made this way. Considered good condition for a carnival glass hatpin of this period. Essential piece for both the carnival glass and the hatpin collector.
As I get time I will list other carnival glass hatpins from the same collection, sometimes duplicated in pattern, but with differences in color.
