Set of two pins, male and female Spanish Dancers in full traditional dancing regalia. These Mexican jewelry pins are old, before the marking system was standardized in Mexico. They are sterling silver. The marks on the back of each say "Made in Mexico Silver" in block letters. These are old, before the Taxco marking system went into effect. The pins are hand made, very thick, substantial, 3 dimensional cast silver. Very heavy weight, 2 oz. or 53 grams total. Large size, 2.75 inches tall (7 cm). The woman wears form fitted dress with full skirt, and carries two maracas with turquoise stones. The man dances with one maraca with turquoise stone. You can see by the reverse side that these are hand made, soldering is not as refined as later Mexican studio work. Even the findings are hand made. But everything works, the locking clasps work well. The backs show normal usage, and some tool marks in the making, but other than that good condition. I did not polish because I like the old look, but you can polish. For sale as a pair. These are thick, substantial brooches. Ethnic Spanish Mexican subjects.
These can be mailed in Priority flat rate box, international, which does not show up as an option in the listing.
