Sterling silver salt and pepper shakers, Japanese in origin, in the form of rickshaws or pull carts sedan chairs. These are marked Sterling 950 and have a maker's mark of a Rising Sun. The Japanese have higher sterling standard than we do. These figural sedan chairs or taxi chairs have moving wheels. They have little sliding doors in the back to fill with salt and pepper. The doors open and close freely. These just need a good polishing. I don't polish, as I like to see old aged tarnish, but these will polish up beautifully, since the silver content is so high. I leave that to the buyer's discretion. These are in good vintage condition for being about 80 years old. Only thing I see is one tiny dent, back left corner of the top. It's only about 1/32 of an inch. Really minimal. After it's cleaned, you won't even notice. Measures 2.75 inches long, by 2.5 inches high. If you collect vintage Japanese silver salt and pepper shakers, these would be a nice addition to the collection.
