This exceptional blue topaz colored rhinestone parure is simply exquisite! It consists of a necklace, bracelet, and matching earrings manufactured in the late 40's in Providence, Rhode Island by the Tru-Kay Company.
The necklace is marked 1/20, 12K GF, which simply means that the top and bottom sheets are gold enveloping a sheet of silver so that the metal touching your skin is gold. The mark 1/20 12K GF dates the piece to the 40's era when base metal was used for the war effort and silver became the substitute. 1/20 of the entire weight of the piece is 12K gold. The necklace measures approx. 16 inch and the fold-over clasp bears the hallmark of a combined T and K (Tru-Kay).
The bracelet is identical to the necklace and measures 7 and 1/4. It also carries the 1/20, 12K GF marks on the fold-over clasp.
The earrings are screw-back and measure 1 by 1/2 inch. The back of both screws are stamped "sterling" (see photo).
The 4 pieces that make up this set are in exceptional condition other than it could use a good cleaning. There is a lovely rich patina which comes with normal vintage items. The blue rhinestones remain brilliant and sparkling. The fold-over clasps and screw-backs on the earrings are in great condition as well. It's a lovely set and amazing that it's survived intact all these years.
