This is a vintage Kashmiri crewel embroidered coat featuring beautiful floral motifs hand rendered in crewel stitching. The embroidery fills the front and most of the back and sides. It is done in bright tones of pink, red, violet, orange, green, yellow, blue and tan against a black background. The coat has a standing collar, full cut sleeves and closes with six loops and covered buttons. It is fully lined, has side pockets and is made in a mid-calf length.
Fabric: I’m unsure, but I think that the base fabric is silk or a silk blend although it is possible that it is rayon. The lining appears to be synthetic, probably polyester
