This is a vintage 1960s mini skirt made in Canada under the “Boutique Bagatelle Designed by Maggie” label - Maggie is Margaret Godfrey, please read about her further below. The skirt is made in a black and white geometric pattern in a wraparound construction. It closes with chrome snaps at the front side and is unlined - note that I've posed it two ways, with the snaps at the front side and at the left side - the front side is the more proper way to wear the skirt.
Material: Cotton
Label: Boutique Bagatelle Designed by Maggie Made in Canada. Margaret Godfrey worked in the London fashion industry from 1962 until 1967, when she moved to Montreal, working for Jonathan Logan until hired in 1968 by the newly founded company Bagatelle. She became a Bagatelle partner in 1969. I believe that this label dates to 1968 before she became partner - her full name Margaret Godfrey appears on labels subsequently. Godfrey was heavily influenced by British designer Mary Quant.
