This is a vintage late 1950s or possibly an early 60s pink silk dress. The dress has a shirt collar, V shaped neckline and does up with two pairs of matching buttons and a couple of hooks and eyes. The skirt is cut full with wide box pleats. The sleeves are elbow length and have turned cuffs. The waist cinches with a matching belt. It is fully lined with a pink toned taffeta fabric.
Label: Kate Newman Gowns Montreal Que(bec). Kate Newman was a ladies’ boutique that carried quality dresses.
Color: Pink in a lustrous tone
Sizing: No size is indicated, but it should fit a medium size - please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 15” across seam-to-seam
Sleeves: 15 1/2” from the shoulder seam
Sleeve inseam: 11”
Bust: 36” taken at the armpits
Waist: 25”-26” around
Hips: 38” around
Length: 41”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam
Condition: It is in very clean condition, with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or other defect - the belt does, however, have some structural wrinkling to it. This looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.
