This is a beaded antique coin bag that would make a wonderful doll purse. The bag is made of strings of crystal beads sewn together with off-white thread and arranged in vertical rows. The handle is stamped “Pat’d Dec 09 1902” and “Sterling FAS”. Sterling FAS stands for “fused alloy silver” and entails infusing an alloy into sterling silver. The handle has a brass looking appearance - I doubt that the composition of the metal really should have little to do with a decision to buy this purse. The purse measures 4” in width cross its bottom, 1 7/8” across its handle and 3” in height, including its clasp. It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear other than some toning to the metal frame. Cute piece to carry coins or other small items, or to pose with an antique doll!
