This is a lovely quality cocktail dress that was custom ordered from Giorgio Beverly Hills during the 1970s. Giorgio was established in 1961 and was the first luxury fashion boutique to open on Rodeo Drive. Their customers included Natalie Wood, Princess Grace (Kelly), the Reagans, Diana Ross and Elizabeth Taylor. This dress is made of silk chiffon over an opaque satin silk base and has a lace bodice. It is sleeveless, has spaghetti straps, and the skirt falls in drapes in a to-the-knee length.
Label: Giorgio Beverly Hills. Giorgio launched a fragrance in 1981 to great success. The owner sold the brand name to Avon in 1987 and re-named his store Fred Hayman Beverly Hills. The original location now houses a Louis Vuitton store.
Union label: Version of the ILGWU label that was in use from 1974 until 1995
