This is a black moiré silk lounging robe or dressing gown that dates to the early 1930s. The robe has a four matching button decorative front, but closes with a snap and interior ties - it is further secured by cinching the waist with a matching sash belt. It has a squared collar that forms a V shaped neckline but the collar can be wrapped to create a different look (see photo). The sleeves have defined cuffs and there is a patch pocket at the left side. The piece is unlined.
