This is a vintage 60s black dress that is hand crochet knitted. The dress has a tighter weave above the waist, with an open weave skirt. Because of the open weave skirt, you would have to use a slip - I’ve posed the dress with a purple slip as well as with a fleshtone slip, but you can use any colour that you would like. The dress has a squared neckline front and back, short sleeves and is made in a below-the-knee length. It is unlined and has been posed without a slip - a slip might be a good idea and you can use whatever colour slip that you feel would work, but most likely you would want a black slip. It has no closures - one simply slips this over one’s head. There is a ribbon at the waist that one would use to cinch the waistline.
Label: None - this was hand knit.
Material: Most likely a cotton yarn
Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a medium size - please rely on the following measurements for fit, keeping the style of the garment in mind (please measure your body or a similar garment that you might own for comparison):
Bust: 36 around, there is a slight bit of stretch to the knit
Waist: 28” around, uncinched
Hips: 36” around
Overall length: 42”, measured flat
Condition: It is in very good condition with no wear, tear or soiling. This dress looks to have seen very little use and was well cared for over the years.
This is a well made dress - sure to be noticed!
