This is a vintage early 1960s, maybe late 50s, party dress featuring a striking magenta red satin fabric, almost certainly silk, woven with darker toned flowers and Asian fans in tones of pink, yellow and blue. The dress has a wide, high rounded neckline, above the elbow length sleeves and a defined waistline. The skirt has a V shaped pleat at the front and is cut so as to have a wide flare to the hemline. The back does up the back with a nylon zipper, which is another reason as to why I think 60s rather than 50s. The dress was posed on my mannequin, but I had to show the back posed alone as the waist was too small for the mannequin. The dress is fully lined in an organza fabric.
