From the 1950s here is a vintage black curly lamb, also known as Persian lamb. The jacket has a mink fur collar that can be worn either down or closed to cover the neck. It has above the wrist length raglan sleeves, which allows one to show off their long gloves, typical of the fashion of the time. The jacket closes with a single fur covered button and is cut with a slight flare to the hemline. There is a slash pocket built into either side. The jacket is lined in a floral woven satin taffeta fabric (see last close-up photo).
Label: Swear & Wells Canada. Swear & Wells Canada was incorporated in 1947, but changed its name to Swear & Wells Montreal in 1966, so this jacket certainly pre-dates 1966. The company survives today as Dworkin Furs.
