This is a wonderful vintage men’s smoking jacket or short lounging robe featuring an Asian inspired patterned satin fabric. I believe that it dates to the early 1950s - it lacks shoulder pads, so probably post-1940s, but definitely an older example. The pattern is in a striking tone of goldenrod on a red background that is a little towards a magenta tone. The robe has a shawl collar, turned cuffs and has a matching sash belt. It has a breast pocket and pocket at either side. The fabric is quite shiny and rich looking.
