This is a wonderful 50s novelty print skirt featuring graphics associated with the Egyptian Pharaonic period. The graphics consist of barges, figures, fans and hieroglyphics all silkscreened in striking colours. The skirt is unlined and closes with a nylon zipper (possibly a replacement) and a waist hook and snap. It was posed with a crinoline, but no crinoline is provided - you could wear the skirt as is, but to achieve a full look, a crinoline is recommended. Also, it was too large for my mannequin, so the waist was clipped back for the photos.
Fabric: Ribbed cotton, excellent quality
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a large size, please note the following measurements for fit:
Waist: 32” / Hips: 52” (meant to be full and fall in drapes) / Length: 29”, measured flat / Hemline: 86” around
Condition: This skirt is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains or odours - it looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.
This is a fabulous novelty print skirt - striking colours and print!
