This is a vintage 1940s era suit jacket featuring a wonderful muted navy blue coloured gabardine wool. The jacket has large peaked lapels, padded shoulders, long sleeves with turned cuffs and does up at the front with a single covered button. The lapels and pockets are decorated with iridescent blue and black beading that is outlined with fabric rick rack. The pockets are made in a rectangular shape that rounds up at the end (see photos). The jacket is lined in blue crepe fabric. There is no label except for “Hand Tailored”.
Sizing: No size is indicated, but this should fit a large to extra large size. Please note the following measurements, taking the style of the suit jacket into account:
Shoulders: 17” across seam-to-seam, but shoulder cap should fit into top of sleeve
Sleeves: 23” from shoulder seam
Sleeve Inseam: 15” long
Bust: 42” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 42” around
Overall length: 28”
Condition: It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odors. The label is detached on one side, but this just needs a small stitch.
