This is a vintage 60s era dress woven in a combination of metallic gold, ochre gold and brown silk on a black silk base in a lovely floral pattern that looks a little like impressionist lily pads. The dress is lined in a black organza and the hemline of the lining is reinforced with “horsehair” braiding - this is a very well made dress. It is made in a sleeveless style with spaghetti straps and a sweetheart neckline. The bodice is gathered at the centre seam and has supportive “stays” at either side and the dress has a dropped waist. The dress does up with a nylon zipper at the back.
