This is one of a lot of old store stock Indian printed cotton dresses, never used, and stored for the last 45 years in their plastic bags. This particular dress is printed in an ornate floral pattern with coral orange being the prominent colour. The print is in tones of coral, brown and blue with metallic gold accents here and there, all on a white background. The fabric was made in India of 100% cotton, woven in a lightweight gauzy construction, great for summer wear. The dress has no closures except for a pair of ties at the open neckline - otherwise, it simply fits over the head. Label: Cotton CA-02911 Made in India. CA-02911 is the Canadian textile identification number for the Indian Palace located on Place Phillips in Montreal, and which specialized in the import of goods from India. Size: Size L for large is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the style of the dress into account: Shoulders: 18” from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam Sleeves: 24” from the shoulder/sleeve seam Sleeve inseam: 2” Bust: 46” around Waist: 50" around, meant to fall loosely in pleats Hips: 60" around, meant to fall loosely in pleats Length: 49“, measured lying flat Condition: It is in very good condition as it is “new old stock” that was never used. The elastic at the waist and at the cuffs has dried out with age, but I don’t think that these were meant to be worn super cinched in any case. I have laundered the dress, but it has never been worn. This is a rare find - original early 70s Indian printed gauze dress, never used!
