This is a pair of Victorian or Edwardian era ladies’ black leather lace-up boots. They have 19 double eyelets (38 holes in all). They have an “oxford” style toe, Cuban heel and bulbous counter. They are lined in an off-white coarse linen fabric. I’ve photographed the interior bottom with the insole removed (see last close-up photo).
Sizing: There is no indicated size. The insoles measure 10” in length from tip of toe to back of heel while the soles measure 10 1/2” in length, following the contour, and have a width of 3” at the widest area, exclusive of sew or glue line. The boots have a height of 12” and the heels have a height of 2”. The top measures 8 1/2” around from eyelet to eyelet. I wear a size 8 and was able to get my feet in these, but there were tight and narrow, so I think that a size 7 1/2 would be right.
Condition: They are in very good condition - these look like they saw little use. There is some wear to the soles and a bit of creasing to the leather, but no pronounced wear to the leather whatsoever. One of the laces has some wearing to it, could use a replacing.
This is a wonderful pair of antique boots in an unusually larger size and hard to find condition - great pair of boots that still has use left in them!
