From the 1950s era here is a dress with a separate top made out of machine "guipure" lace. The dress is made in a strapless style, although the original owner added spaghetti straps in order to ensure that the bodice would stay up. The straps are in a tan color, but I've photographed the dress without the straps in place as this is how the dress is supposed to be worn. If the dress fits properly, there shouldn't be any issue regarding the bust staying up. Please note that the dress was large on my mannequin and was pinned back for the photographs. The dress has a black polished cotton top and a skirt that is covered in lace. The dress closes with a metal zipper at the back. The top is made of unlined matching guipure lace. The top is sleeveless and does up the back with a metal zipper
Material: Cotton & machine lace that I believe is a blend of cotton and silk
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, keeping the style of the garment in mind (please measure your body or a similar garment that you might own for comparison):
Bust: 35" around
Waist: 28" around
Hips: 36" around
Overall length: 36", measured flat.
Bust: 36" around
Waist: 37" around
Length: 23", measured flat
It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains, breaks to the lace or odors - the dress looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.
This is a very attractive vintage dress featuring lovely lace.....
