Hyalyn pottery was produced in Hickory, North Carolina from the mid 1940's through the early 1970's, and featured pieces created by several well-regarded designers of the era, including Eva Zeisel, Georges Briard, and George Irving.
Officially named the "hyalyn porcelain company" (lower case intentional!) by founders Leslie and Frances Moody, hyalyn crafted elegant, mid-century modern pieces in vitreous, high-fired white clay earthenware resistant to chipping, crazing and wear, with smooth, even glazes of the highest quality.
